SIROMER TRACTOR BIO FUEL TESTS

Dan Higham of Myerscough College ran tests on the Siromer 204S using varying degrees of bio fuel which is a 50% used vegetable oil and 50% oil seed rape mixture. The fuel is carbon neutral.
10 tests were performed on the tractor. This breaks down to 2 test runs per fuel mixture so that an average could be taken.
The fuel mixtures are as follows:-
The results show that the tractor had 19.3 HP on standard fuel. This increased to 21.2 HP on a 50% mixture. At 100% Bio Mixture, the tractor had 19.6 HP.
These figures were gained without any modification to the tractor, none at all!
The tractor has also under gone a series of cold start tests on the 100% Bio mixture since the initial tests. These have gone well, with no starting problems being found.
